The female soldier that was raped by suspected bandits who was dismissed by the Nigerian Army after getting pregnant as a result of the rape action carried out on her en route from Lagos to Oyo state.
The soldier was investigated by an Army Board of Inquiry(BOI) and
was condemned of the "Offence of Conduct Prejudicial to Service Discipline" which resulted to the dismissal.
Barrister Johnson Oyewole, the lawyer to the dismissed soldier has opposed to the dismissal saying he sees it as unlawful after the incident which she passed through insisting that she should be called back to serve her fatherland.
The lawyer has further made an appeal to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai to redress the decision made by the BOI as he says the power to change the army board decision lies in the hands of the Chief of Army Staff.
Barrister Oyewole said his client lawfully applied and was permitted to travel to Oyo State in October 2014 when the vehicle which she boarded was attacked by bandits along Odo-Oba road and raped by five men. The soldier was taken to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho where she received treatment for six days.

"It is manifest that the purported trial of our client was tainted with substantial irregularities, there is no offence of misconduct prejudicial to service discipline that talks of pregnancy while in service and warranted dismissal under section 103(1)", Oyewole argues.
