Killer of Female Pilot Says It's A Mistake

The suspect, Nehemiah Adejoh who was driving the car that ran over the late female pilot, Tolulope Arotile has said his action was a mistake.

Adejoh told
a Kaduna magistrate court on Thursday, 20th August, that it wasn't his intention to kill her.The court has remanded him in prison pending further hearing


Adejoh was reported to be the one behind the steering of the vehicle that knocked down Arotile on July 11 before she was pronounced dead at the Nigerian Air Force hospital.

He explained that on seeing the late pilot walking along the roadside at the Air Force base, he reversed his car to exchange pleasantries with her but mistakenly ran over her.

The suspect has been charged with culpable homicide. 
The chief magistrate, Danjuma Hassan has ordered the suspect to be remanded in prison.
3rd October has been fixed as the day for further hearing.
Whereby, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state on Thursday, July 23 said the sacrifices of the Nigerian first female helicopter combat pilot, Late Tolulope Arotile was so huge that the nation cannot forget.
Governor Bello stated this at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja where the remains of the late Flying Officer Arotile was laid to rest.
He said Tolulope as a young female pilot who fought for the peace of the nation both on land and in the air and died at 24 remained a huge inspiration for both men and women in the country and beyond.

The former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, wrote a heart-touching tribute to the late Tolulope Arotile.
He tweeted on his Twitter page, describing her as a "brave patriot who pushed her self beyond limits to demonstrate her uncommon love for our dear nation.
